Turn ideas into IT

Introduction

Over the past few weeks we have worked intensively with two young entrepreneurs to turn their idea into a concrete plan. A creative process in which we get energy from their passion for realizing their idea.

In this blog post we will take you through our approach to converting IT ideas into success.

From idea to product

It all starts with an idea. 💡

We converted a number of our own ideas into successful IT solutions, such as SiriDB, ThingsDB and InfraSonar. So we gained already some experience in this area.🙂

Converting an idea into IT is an interactive process which starts with us listening to your ideas and asking questions as we want to understand your goal 🎯 and the principles surrounding this.

Once we have a deeper understanding we converge to an interactive process in which we consider all dimensions of the idea together. We do this in order to make a good estimate of the development costs and operating costs. After all, these costs largely determine the future price and the required investment.

We highly suggest involving us in your business case to jointly determine a strategy on how we can bring the product to the market in iterations. Part of this strategy is to determine together what the first version of the product will look like and which subsequent versions we plan to release after that.

Minimum viable product

Depending on the idea, it may be useful to start with a minimum viable product (MVP). This is a working version of the product with the most important features. An MVP makes it possible to experiment and get a better feeling about the possible end product.

A MVP is also useful in demonstrating your ideas towards investors or any other stakeholders.

Continues improvement

After the MVP all parties involved should be confident in moving forward. This is the actual build phase in which we deliver the first production ready version of the product.

After the production release we continue to continually improve the product by adding features and solve issues reported by the users. Getting early feedback from users and acting upon their feedback is viral as their investment is required to be successful.

Our approach

We use a lean software development approach as it best fits our principles and ensures high quality code. It is our experience that quality contributes to the readability and maintainability of the code, which ensures that we do not lose time during the project.

The chef's secret in this is ThingsDB, a solution that gives us structure and flexibility from the very first moment that is not possible in a traditional development process. ThingsDB is our fully equipped kitchen from which we work to prepare the best software solution.

Successful together

We believe that success is achieved together 🤝 by getting everyone on the same page and continuously evaluate if we are on the right path towards the end-goal.

Invitation

We cordially invite 👋 you to discuss your ideas and our approach together.
